Greetings Stakeholders,

This is a time like no other in our lives. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to produce uncertainty, stress, and trauma in our communities. By now, we have all been impacted by this virus, which has been devastating for so many. However, despite the challenges we are all facing every day, this is also a time that is bringing out the very best in our organization.

When the pandemic erupted, we took immediate steps to ensure that the basic operation of our organization could continue with no interruption to our overall plans to support students and music educators for the 2020 – 2021 academic year. While following state and national guidelines, we were able to deliver a comprehensive educational series to students and teachers that strengthened ensemble work, improved individual student technique, fostered relationships amongst collegiate and secondary educators, and provided a path to music and band scholarships for thousands of students around the world.

Unfortunately, our plans to host a 2020 scholarship gala could not be realized due to our need to adhere to CDC Guidelines. Though we did not host this major fundraiser, we plan to apply all scholarship monies donated by friends and supporters like yourself towards our 2021 Scholarship recipients.

We thank you for continuing to support AMMEA and Music Education. We look forward to partnering with you in 2021 as we cultivate, support, and enhance Music and Music Education in the state of South Carolina.

Sincerely,

Ernest Stackhouse, President – AMMEA
